OF SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF SERBIA
Dear friends and colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 9th Congress of
physiatrists of Serbiawith international
attendance, which will take place in Subotica
from 13th to 16th May 2009.
After a while, congress is to be held in beautiful
Vojvodina. We believe to have excellent conditions for
successful work in the pleasant surroundings of Subotica,
city that lays in between Danube and Tisa.
Our congress meetings are held annually and traditionally we gather
physiatrists, rheumatologists, orthopedists, child surgeons,
neurosurgeons, cardiologists, neurologists and other experts in
rehabilitation. The purpose of the congress is to demonstrate and share
scientific achievements, professional innovations, accomplishments and
experiences, with the goal of expanding the knowledge in the field of
physical medicine and rehabilitation and improving the health of our
patients.
This year’s Congress is organized by the Serbian Association of
Physiatrists. The topics featured at
the congress, selected from the field ofphysical medicine and
rehabilitation, will be presented in the form of plenary lectures by
eminent professors from Serbia, the surrounding countries (Montenegro,
Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina), as well as other countries of the
world. The original works will be reviewed by the Scientific Board, and
will be presented on posters. The best original scientific works will be
presented oraly.
Series of sponsored
lectures and symposiums will widen our experience and help us improve
our rehabilitation skills
After a great success we will repeat workshop
practices, which will hopefully be
very useful.
We
believe this year’s Congress will also be an opportunity for all
participants to find time and socialize and enjoy the artistic program
and entertainment, planned for them during the Congress.
We
expect to see You at the Congress and we are looking forward to Your
arrival!

Subotica
and its surroundings take central part
in Panonia flatlands, surrounded with Carpathian Mountains,
Alpes and mountains of Balkan Peninsula.
Subotica lays on the edge of different
geomorphologic plates. At it's south is Telecka area that slowly
fades into Suboticko-Horgoska sand land. City
is conveniently located in between Danube on the west and Tisa
river on the east. Climate
is continental, with hot summers and very cold winters, with low
precipitation.
Most common winds in the area are cold
north winds and wet western winds, that feed once semi-deserted
lands that are now turned to cultivated areas.
Subotica lays on the transit
internation E-75 highway with two major border crossings in the
area. Those two border crossings, Horgos and Kelebija, today act
as points with largest interaction of passengers and
merchandise. Good placement of Subotica is especially favorable
because of the important Corridor X.
